Bengt Washburn is originally from Utah and grew up the youngest son in a small Mormon family (7 kids) in a large Utah town (2,000 people). At nineteen he was given a ten speed bike, two polyester suits and a plane ticket to Seattle Washington where he served his two year tour of religious duty as a missionary for the LDS church. He returned home two years later with buns of steel and life experiences that would translate into twenty minutes of solid comedy material. In 2001 Bengt won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition. He has since appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham and the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has performed in forty states, on four continents, at the 2002 Winter Olympics and in Canada. He has been invited to perform at the Boston Comedy Festival, the Vancouver International Comedy Festival, and the Aspen Laff Festival, where his performance was broadcast live on XMSirius Radio.
